The first part of our trip included a trip to Boston with our good friends from Iowa, the Gardners. Holly and Brent are living in New York City for the year, and Boston is right in the middle of both of us. So, we planned to meet there for Presidents day weekend. Luckily for us, Brent and Holly are great tour guides. They had researched and found some great spots in Boston. Day one we went to the MIT museum and learned about robots that do all sorts of things. For example, allow surgeons to practice doing surgery, understand speech, and help with research. We also saw a whole exhibit of mechanical art. It was very interesting. On Day 2, we went to China town. Which just happened to be a day of celebration. There were bands all around, and Dragons parading around the block. They would go to each store front where the owners would provide them with an offering of cabage and an orange. The dragons would then dance and bless the store. It was awesome, Liv especially loved it. The red shavings on the ground are actually papers from firecrackers that were set off. They made a loud popping noise, and there were thousands of them. The next picture is of Liv plugging her ears. I love this picture because it shows just how tired she was. She was such a trouper, considering she was SO exausted. The last picture if of our lunch. It was Poh, a very fresh tasting Asian soup. Even Liv loved it! The dragons came and blessed our store while we were eating, and Liv hopped up to watch the whole thing. She wasn't one bit shy. She just asked if she could go over, and got right in on the action. She even found a little boy at the table next to us and asked him if he wanted to come along. At our lunch, both Liv and Gwen ate with chopsticks =0). Gwen was tired through the whole thing too, she just relaxed quietly in the stroller through it all. This was definitely a highlight of our trip.
