I am dieing to start painting. I have never used oils before. I am trying to suppress my one track mind, and actually look into this before I just go at it. SO, do you have any advice for me?? What to get, etc.?? Although 90% of you have probably never painted either, I know there are experienced folk among you. Please pass on your wisdom.....it will be greatly appreciated.
Please hurry, I can only put off this urge for so long.

No advice at all, but I do want to say Welcome Back! We missed you! I'm LOVING my new xTi. Photography is too much fun! And I got amanda to show me how to use photoshop (kind of--there were like, 100 kids demanding things as she was trying to show me.)
When you decide to buy paints I remember my art teacher had a very specific list of paints that you buy that mix together to make all the colors you need... like burnt umber, and stuff like that. I'm sure you can find the list on the internet. BTW, the family pictures look marvelous :)
